THE TANDARICA PUPPET THEATRE OF BUCHAREST

   FAUST
Free adaptation after J.W von Goethe and Sir Cristopher Marlowe

     Directing, Scenography, Music and Script:
Gabriel Apostol, Ion Brancu and Mariana Zaharia
Cast: Gabriel Apostol, Ion Brancu, Mariana Zaharia.
The story of FAUST, also known as FAUSTUS or DOCTOR FAUSTUS, is the story of a German necromancer and astrologer that sold his soul to the Devil in exchange for knowledge and power. Apparently around 1540 a certain Faustus ended his life leaving behind various studies of alchemy and witchcraft, of theology and satanism originating in necromancy.
Using the ideas that have long been issued on Faustus and his personality as a pretext,  Gabriel Apostol, Ion Brancu, Mariana Zaharia intend to present us with a parabolical puppet show that reinterprets the Faustian myth.
The main characters of the show are the inhabitants of an institution for mental diseases that try to escape their fate by unconsciously taking over the roles of Faustus, Mephisto and Margaret. The show reaches its apex when the characters start to realize they have taken over those particular roles.

Show for young audience -puppets, masks, no words (50 min)
