Popol Vuh is a fascinating mixture of myths, traditions and historical data characteristic to the pre-Columbian civilization. It is a masterpiece of the universal literature, a poetical Bible that has been passed down to generations, cosmogonical as well as mythological and religious, a result of the migrations of the Maya-Quiché peoples. Popol Vuh, The Sacred Book of the Maya People was first adapted and set by the Gulliver Puppet Theatre, thus offering the public the opportunity to get familiar to one of the most important works of the religious and literary Maya culture. Scenography, music and directing are skillfully combined so as to give us charming and delicate images of the mysterious Genesis from immemorial times: the making of the Earth, the plants, the animals and the human beings.
Performance for children, in Romanian (1h).
